The Missoula Children’s Theatre - TAD Life

The summer of 2022, I had the incredible opportunity to work my first professional contract as a Tour Actor/Director (TAD) with the Missoula Children’s Theatre, touring their version of “The Little Mermaid.” In this production, my tour partner and I took turns playing the role of Mrs. Merman/Professor Thumperdumper, while the other acted as the main director for the week. My tour was booked throughout the west coast, specifically in California, Washington, and Oregon— this meant I got to see the Pacific Ocean for the first time! TAD life is not the easiest summer gig, but I got to work with amazing children every week and watch as they grew in confidence onstage. This tour fostered a love in me for teaching theatre to children, as well as reaffirming how important it is to make theatre accessible to children. Not only did I gain new skills as a performer, but I made some amazing friends along the way!
